What do I need to have ready?

A little preparation turns a notarization into a five-minute appointment. Have these ready before we arrive:

• A valid, unexpired government photo ID for every signer
• The complete document, unsigned (the notary must watch you sign)
• Any witnesses the document requires (we can advise on this when you book)

If you are not certain what counts as valid identification, Missouri notaries can accept a current driver's license, a state-issued ID card, a U.S. passport, or another government photo ID that is unexpired and bears your signature and photo. The name on your ID should reasonably match the name on the document; if you have changed your name recently, mention it when you book so we can advise on the right approach.

For loan packages and multi-page documents, it also helps to clear a flat surface and have any cover sheets or instructions from the title company on hand. If a required witness cannot be present, let us know in advance, because some documents allow the signer to bring their own witnesses while others do not.
